Development, at least as explained by economists, is not just an increase in the per capita GDP of a country but also an improvement in factors much closer to human life. Literacy, health, communication, transportation, poverty, hunger, employment... all these are what traditionally economists worry about when they talk about "development."
Equality, charity, happiness, and most important of all, a consciously diminishing ignorance is what economic welfare means to me. My blog is an attempt to bring these two definitions in terms with each other and in the process, make the latter more important than the former.
